We have chosen an original way to say good bye to you. We want to say that we have enjoyed a lot doing this blog and also we have studied too much. Bye!

The dinner (results)

As you know, we wanted to do a dinner but we didn't know when. To know your preferences, we did a questionaire. Here you have the results, althoug we haven't all agree with the date, the majority agrees with doing the dinner on 23th of June at 21:00. So, we hope to see you there to have a great time. Remember that you have to take the money to pay the dinner!

Regarding to the final of the school year and the beginning of the summer, we want to organize a dinner where all students of DBH 4 are going to be invited. THE TELEVISION

Our teacher said we had to do something to surprise her, a special work using some of the programes we learnt to use. The topic was free to choose and we decided to do a work about TV.

 

We have done a mindmap with the channels we like most, including some programmes and series from each one. The programmes that appear here are in our opinion the funniest, the most interesting, the most viewed... We chose four Spanish channels: Antena 3, Cuantro, Telecinco and LaSexta. Moreover, we put three programes we like in each of them. To do this mindmap we used the programe Mind42, that we learnt to use few weeks ago.

Besides, we have done a digital poster where  the programmes and series, that from our point of view, are the best of the night appear. The days that appear in this poster are from Monday to Friday. We have included in what channel you can watch those programmes and a little summary. The programmes that we chose are very different, some are humor programes and we also included various series like police series or doctors series. Some of them are of American Production, others are Spanish and also we add Basque programmes. To do this work we used glogster, a programme to do digital posters.

Finally, we have prepared a matching quiz. What you have to do is match the presenter with the program that he or she presents. We have used the programme Hot Potatoes to do this activity. With this programme you have the posibility to do a lot of things like a quiz, a cloze, a crosse and a matching exercise. Doing this work we have realized how big television´s influence is in our life We usually start watching television when we are just children, so we waste too much time watching television in our life. The television is a perfect instrument to influence people's mind and this "power" of influence is used in news, advertisements etc. by politicians, sellers...

From our point of view, we have to use the time we waste watching television to do other things such as to read, play an instrument, practice any sport, meet with friends... So you know, control the time you waste watching TV!!

SPORTS

We have learnt how to use a new tool to do mindmaps, called Mind42.
Firstly, we chose the topic of our mindmap which was "sports". Secondly, we selected six different sports and we divided each one in three branches: currently active, retired and deceased. Thirdly, we chose sportsmen and sportswomen, we created a link and incluided a photo of each one.

From our point of view, Mind42 is a very usefull tool to do mindmaps. Besides, it works fast uploading photos and it helps you working better.

We are going to do a review of the film based on the accident of the ship called Titanic. It was shot in United States of America in 1997 under hte orders of the famous film director James Cameron. The principal actors and actress are Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack, Billy Zane as Caledon and Kate Winslet as Rose.

The film is based on a real story of a transatlantic. It was the biggest ship ever built and its builder said that it was unsinkable. Here the two protagonists, Jack and Rose, met and fell in love. But she had to get married with a vey rich man, Caledon.

This film tells us the romantic story of this couple and the problems that they have to overcome during the journey to be together without anyone knowing about it. This film is full of feelings. The actors and James Cameron have transmited very well the feelings. However, James Horner did an spectacular work with the music, especially with the lead soundtrack interpreted by Céline Dion.

Kate Winslet was born in England in 1975 and became famous thanks to her roll in Titanic. After Titanic, she has won many awards, for example, the Oscar to the best actress in 2008 with the film The Reader. Although she was candidate to the award of the best actress in the film Titanic, she did not win it. On the other hand she sometimes sings, for example in the single "What If" in the film "Christmas Carol".

Leonardo DiCaprio was born in California (USA) in 1974, "This Boy's Life" was the film that opened him the doors to Holliwood and he also became famous thanks to Titanic. He has not won any Oscar, besides he was nominated three times, one of them with the film "The Aviator". However, he has been nominated to many important awards.

Beer - Reel Big Fish

The last work we did in Icts was about music. We had to choose a song of a group that sings in English. The group that we chose was the American Ska group Reel Big Fish and our favourite song was Beer, so we did the work with this song. Later, we started subtitling. First, we subtitled the song in English using a program called dotSUB. Finally we translated it into Basque and Spanish.

We did not know this program and we think that dotSUB is a very practical programe to subtitle songs. It is perfect because it is easy and simple to use. In our opinion, it is very useful to translate videos, songs...

The principal reason to choose this song was we liked this type of music: Ska. Also, the videoclip is very funny and from our point of view this is one of the best songs of this spectacular group.

This group was founded in 1992 in Huntington Beach, California. The genres that they play are Ska punk, alternative rock and third wave ska. Nowadays the members of the band are Aaron Barrett (guitar and lead vocals from 1992 to present), Dan Regan (trombone and backing vocals from 1994 to present), John Christianson (trumpet and backing vocals from 2004 to present), Ryland Steen (drums from 2005 to present), Derek Dibbs (bass guitar and backing vocals from 2007 to present) and Matt Appleton (saxophone and backing vocals from 2011 to present).

Glogging

The last weeks, we have been creating a glog. The glog is a poster where you can upload photos, videos, sounds and also you can write texts. Our teacher proposed us to do a glog about human rights and we wrote there the most important concepts of these rights for us. It is very easy to do a glog, we propose you to try glogging! Ginsort Hotel

Our teacher proposed us to create a website about a bussines, we decided to do one about a hotel and we called it Ginsort Hotel. We located our five stars hotel in Hawaii and we invented all information about the hotel: the prices, rooms, activites, restaurants...

In our opinion this activity is perfect to know what is the function of a site. Also we think that it can be practical for us some day and we enjoyed a lot doing this activity.

Quiz: TV
